Overview:
The Apex is an adult story-driven Visual Novel game set in a fictional city called “Daylight City”, where superheroes and supervillains play a key part in the story. You play as the grandson of an influential man who recently passed away under mysterious circumstances. Talk, love or fight your way through many different characters that you will encounter along the way and grow as a powerful superhero! It is up to you as the player to find out what caused your grandfather’s sudden death and uncover the many mysteries of Daylight City!

-Completion of the intro! A lot of dialogue rewrites and new scenes were added/changed within the “intro” section. A whole new “park” event with its own location and cutscenes was created for early game. There was also a new minigame added when you face SuperSonic in the intro
-Full implementation of an open world, with a unique day and night system. Time of day changes dynamically and also changes the environment around you, while also being tied to certain events that are time sensitive! The locations you explore all have unique sounds and events tied to them, with an explorable environment that allows for more development in the future
-Over 30 different story events for up to 9 characters. Joanne, Stacy, Imani and Nia have received the most attention for this update, with each of them having at least 4 different events, all with their unique cutscenes and dialogue
-A complete update for the artstyle! Every single character received a massive update to their art making them look so much nicer!
-Many new cutscenes, each with dozens of hours of sweat and tears poured into them
-A brand new phone system with dynamic text messaging, phone calling and a hint system for each character! You might receive text messages from certain characters at different times of days, or they might not send you anything at all if you haven’t gotten close enough to them yet
-An inventory system that allows you to store items you collect throughout the world (will be much more dynamic in future updates)
-Certain items could “spawn” within the world over a certain amount of days. You could then collect and store these items, which could be used as gifts in the future (not fully implemented yet)
-Fully implemented audio, with over 40 sound effects, 10 sounds and 5 new music tracks!
-A complete code rehaul behind the scenes which will allow for an easier time working on future updates (still currently updating it every day)
-Many, many bug fixes and dialogue changes. Too many to even name here

This update continues the story right after you encounter with Steve, and it focuses more on building the main character’s hero persona while he learns more about Steve and his past altogether. You will get to meet a few new characters this update, some of them very sexy 😉

-So many lines of dialogue and posing!
-Reworked the dialogue system, where the player now gets small choices here and there to respond differently to situations
-Added some cute and lewd scenes involving characters like Stacy and Aziel
-Created 5 new character rigs including multiple different facial and arm expressions
-Created 2 new special character rigs including multiple different facial expressions
-Added 1 new animation including 3 different variants
-Reworked various characters and rigs, updating them into the new rigging system
-Reworked and improved various locations and buttons
-Reworked the main menu, including a new intro video
-Added a new screen when quitting the game
-Changed the imaging format to use WEBP instead of PNG. The size now is significantly reduced (roughly 120 MBs) down from 1 GB

Who is working on the game?
At the moment, WarmBeerProductions is run by me, MrWarmBeer himself!(disgusting name, I know). I’m hoping to garner enough support to eventually expand my team, which means faster updates! If you are interested in the project and want to help, know that every dollar counts!
The current goal for the game is to create more for the game world and add more content, including new characters, events, scenes, and so much more!
The game is free and is planned to be so, but with your help, the updates will come SO MUCH faster as I can hopefully eventually work on the game full time, so join as early as you can and become part of this new project!
There is currently the 0.1 version of the game, which is meant to showcase the art style and some gameplay elements, along with some characters and world-building!
